Cheryl Smith was working in a hospital when she realized that while healthcare staff and emergency workers were trained in CPR, the general public often was not. Knowing that most cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals—and that bystander CPR and AED use save lives—Cheryl founded CPR Choice, a company dedicated to CPR training and education. Passionate about increasing access to CPR and AEDs, Cheryl has met with numerous lawmakers and continues to advocate for lifesaving initiatives as a Knoxville American Heart Association Board Member and the 2025 co-chair of the Association’s Tennessee State Advocacy Committee. Fueled by her commitment to creating meaningful change, Cheryl’s chamber is advocacy.
Travis Smith saw an opportunity to combine his expertise in web development, marketing, and business strategy with a mission that truly makes a difference. When Cheryl set out to start a CPR training company, he built a strong online presence and scalable business model, helping transform it from a small startup into one of the most trusted CPR training providers in the region. With over 20 years of experience in business development and digital marketing, Travis has played a key role in expanding CPR Choice’s reach, ensuring lifesaving skills are accessible to more companies and individuals than ever. Dedicated to innovation and efficiency, he continues to refine CPR Choice’s operations and impact—always driven by the goal of empowering more people to save lives.
